Still experimenting with these forged structures.

Seen Better Days Ring

Note to self: Do not put paper rings in your bag for 24 hours. They will end up just like an Ikea couch. A trip to Ikea and little time yielded this one, which was actually sort of pretty when it was made at dinner. Well, now it's just more angular.

Paper, tape.

Burnt Bun Boy Ring

What can I say, I just love Burnt Bun Boy. I have no idea what he is saying, but am sure it must be along the lines of... woe is me, i am always getting toasted in the oven. Well, he has my love always. And I bet he is delicious too. Mmm, brioche.

Less is More

The non-studio days are getting really hard! It was 10:50 pm and I had nothing. Thank you, Nina Garcia, for invoking the inimitable words of Mies van der Rohe during Project Runway tonight.

Project Runway Challenge #3

Sort of took the easy way out on this one. I was going to do something else but in the interest of time I went with this. The inspiration was:
Throw Sticks, probably 1927–28 season
Harry Burton (English, 1879–1940)
The Egyptian Expedition of The Metropolitan Museum of Art www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/harr/ho_TAA1175.htm

Swirl Ring

Spent the day in the studio today but didn't work on any rings. I ended up punching out vertical lines from an old Dwell magazine. I kinda like it.

Paper, brass fastener.

Eclipse Ring

Another scrap ring. This is the first time I kind of cheated. Technically, I made this ring yesterday. Oops! It is made of the left over silver from my sequins series, for which I punch out the parts using the best tool ever... The Roper Whitney Jr. handpunch!
