Blog Carnival: Favorite Ring a Day

This Ring a Day project has been really inspiring and seems to have caught on like house on fire. I've been asked to post about my favorite rings for the EtsyMetal Blog Carnival. Both my own and other people's. There have been so many amazing rings, I don't know that I can pick a favorite, but I will try to pull out a few and explain why I think they are special.

The ring that stands out the most in my memory is Thomasin Durgin's Bad Girl Ring. Aside from it being an utterly whimsical stroke of genius, I love how inventive it is. It is a great example of how above and beyond people are going for this project. I love all the experimentation and exploration that went into making it. But my absolute favorite part is the video she made. This just had me laughing uncontrollably.

I love this ring by Sabinea Design for its ingenious use of material and pure simplicity. I don't really think I have to say much about it. Its lovely.

Maggie Joynt has done some incredible conceptual pieces. This one uses her own eyebrow hairs. Tim Hawkinson would be proud.

Colleen Baran has been doing a whole series exploring various cosmetic products. This one using a peel of face mask and facetted garnets really brought the entire challenge to a new level.

I don't know that I can pick a favorite of my own pieces yet, but I am really excited about where this project is going and all the different avenues I have begun to explore.
