My Ring a Day Epiphany

So after, what, 18 days of making a ring a day it hit me.. it is working! I started this because I wanted discipline and inspiration. I wanted the process of creation to become part of my daily life. I wanted it to be easier and more natural. Well, it hit me yesterday that I am no longer struggling with my daily ring ideas. Suddenly, I have a surplus of them. I seem to know what I am going to do each day. I don't necessarily know what the ring is going to look like, but I have an idea of what material I am going to experiment with or what concept I want to explore.

From all the wonderful feedback I have gotten from participants and observers I have a feeling the same thing is happening to everyone. Thanks so much to all of you who are participating. It has made it SO much easier for me to do this, and so much more FUN!

Here is a collection of my rings over the last 18 days.

Thank you so much for starting this wonderful movement Nina! I'm surprised that I've stayed with it for over two weeks! And surprised that I realllly want to continue it for a whole year. It's definitely making me look at jewelry making and materials in a whole new way.

I think next month I'll have to join in! This has been a lot of fun to follow. Now I'd like to participate too!

I've never made a ring (well, except for gluing stuff to an adjustable blank ring base), but it really does look like fun. I was wishing I knew about it before it started so I could have tried for myself.

I'm amazed by what I've seen in the flickr pool.
